Tote

Hope everyone had a nice weekend!! I had the day to myself yesterday so did a little playing with something new, I wanted to do one of these totes for a friend but I plan on using pictures on it. I thought I better do a practice one, so I did this one but with no pictures. Just wanted to see how it painted up etc. I really wanted to stamp on it but I was afraid I might ruin it. I started out with a plain Donna Downey tote, wow it is a lot bigger then I thought!!

I set it on a small dress form I have (hope to get that decorated some day) and started to paint, I used watered down acrylic paint and it went on really nice.

The green I used was a little brighter then I wanted...

But for a first, it didn't turn out to bad. Decorated it with Prima flowers and rhinestones.

Now to tackle the other one, hope what I plan on doing with it will work out! I would love to do one of her camera bags but it is a little spendy!!

Have a good one!!

Tag Board

Yayyy!! I got my project done!! Over on the ATT yahoo group they did a tag swap called Chaos Swap sponsored by Pam Austin, Pam & Nancy Mayer then spent countless hours in painting the canvas's, decorating the top & bottom and assembling them all together on canvas board for 32 players!! I can't imagine doing more then one! If you are a fan of Tim Holtz you should join the All Things Tim yahoo group, there is so much talent on that group, total inspiration!!

The tag board looked so awesome, I told my boss about it and she wanted to see it so I showed her and she thought it was a cool idea for a class. So I have been busy, busy, busy trying to get something similar done for an example for a class. I have slowly gotten her to carry some of Tim's products in the store but doesn't have a lot so had to improvise on some things as I can't supply everyone out of my stash of goodies!! So if I was just doing it for myself I would have used a lot more idealogy pieces etc. on it! I was on a time crunch so made a few mistakes along the way, but all in all it came out ok. We will do the class in two sessions. I had fun with it, a lot of different techniques most out of Tim's book which some I had tryed before some new to me. Loved the water stamping!! Used Tim's die cuts and embossing folders, distress ink, alcohol ink, distress stickles, distress embossing powder, smooch, utee, perfect pearls, both Tim & Wendy's stamps and what ever else I could get my hands on! Tryed the drunken scotch technique and love it, thanks Kat @http:kattoys.blogspot.com!! I absolutely love Tim's embossing folders, they emboss so deep!! Way to cool!! It looks better in person but here is a pic of my project....

Thanks for looking!

Have a good one!!

Compendium of Curiosities Challenge

Linda from Studio L3 http://studiol3.blogspot.com had this great idea to present a weekly challenge to try one of the many techniques from Tim Holtz book Compendium of Curiosities. You have to check out Linda's blog every Monday to see what we're doing. There will be random drawings for cool gifts. Gloria, the list mom from ATT will also be doing giveaways.
Here is my tag using the water stamping technique.

I really liked this technique and will have to use it more often!! Thanks Linda for doing this challenge!

Have a good one!!
