Creative Chemistry 101

Feeling good today!! I had the day to myself yesterday and started working on my class projects for Creative Chemistry 101. I ended up working on them ALL day, seriously started around 8:00 am and finished around 9:00 pm. Once I started working on them I couldn't quit, it was so much fun to try all of the techniques! The class was outstanding, I learned so much! The other day a customer came in the store and was asking about the difference between some of the products distress ink, spray wash, alcohol ink etc. I couldn't believe what was flying out of my mouth, I shocked myself that I actually new what I was talking about!! lol The customer bought one distress ink pad and a blending tool. The next day the customer came back in and had loved the distress ink and bought a few more of them and some spray wash. So this class not only helped me learn the difference of the different products for myself but it has helped in selling the product also!! Love it!! So a big thank you to Tim Holtz www.timholtz.typepad.com for doing this online class www.onlinecardclasses.com, it was the most informative class I have ever taken, THANK YOU!! Thank you to Mario to for all the BTS, you're the best!!

Tim Holtz Classes at Stampers Ink day 2

The first class on the second day of classes was Idea-ology Intrigue what a fun class!! We did all these pieces, they were so much fun to put together, the possibilities are endless!! These pictures don't do them justice (taken indoors on a rainy day).

Tim & Mario did door prizes after each class and I won a configuration box, tissue tape, feet & buttons, WOO HOO I was pretty excited!! I'm planning on doing a holiday themed one with it. Some of the gals won Tim's messenger bags, Lucky Ducks!! They are so cool, I would love to have one of those!! Wish he would make them available to buy!!

And of course I had to buy an apron and have Tim & Mario sign it!!

Second class for the day was Configuration of your Imagination. I couldn't believe they cut the paper & scored it for us, so nice!! I had planned on doing mine the opposite way but once I got all the paper & tissue tape on it I realized I couldn't get some of the taller pieces in it (grrr). Tim warned us about that but I didn't listen!! lol It ended up turning out ok. We were provided with a cloth bag full of goodies to add to our configurations, so cool!! The little hanging thing on the left says Kansas on it and I made a little banner from the new die cut I had bought. Lot's of fun putting this together!! Loved the class!!

I got to sit across from Wanda Hentges from ATT yahoo group, so nice to visit with her!! Also got to visit with Tammy a little, great gals!!

Tim Holtz Classes at Stampers Ink

Finally getting a chance to blog about my amazing journey to Stampers Ink in Kansas to attend Tim Holtz classes. Actually the car ride down there & back wasn't so amazing, detours around Omaha & Sioux City were horrible very poorly marked! Took me out in the boonies somewhere in Iowa, but I did see some beautiful countryside!! The flooding around both cities is horrible, I feel so bad for everyone dealing with the flooding, my heart goes out to you!! This is a pic of a roller coaster road I was on!!

But I did make it in time to attend the reception Fri. night at Stampers Ink. What a wonderful store, and yes I did my fare share of $ damage there!!

I had Tim sign the shirt I had made on my Yudu and my art journal that I have been working on.

We were to make a scrapbook page for Tim and the scrapbook was presented to Tim on Sat. I had forgotten to take a pic of it before I left so this was taken on the hotel room floor!

Tim & Mario are so generous with their time, Great evening!!

First class Sat. morning was Creative Blocks where we worked with canvas, beeswax, tissue tape & embellishments. So much fun, I will definitely be bringing out my melt pot more often!! I have heard Tim say before to not over think it, ya right who was thinking sure not me!! I was so excited to just be there and taking classes from him I couldn't even concentrate!! Mine got finished when I got home!! lol

Second class on Sat. was Patchwork Pandemonium. Wow, this class was awesome Tim, Mario & Michele go through a lot of prep time for this class!! I couldn't stop working on it after class was over and stayed up until 12:30 putting embellishments on it and got it done other then the frame (which Tim also supplied for us) and finished that at home. So glad I was able to take this class!!

Shopping Spree/Halloween

No creative time for me lately!! grrrrr!! I feel so bad I wasn't able to take part in the challenges on CCC & SSSS last week, hopefully this week!! I did start working on my Christmas Banners for a banner swap on ATT group over the weekend, turning out pretty cool I will see if I can get a sneak peek out in the next few days. I had a super tough week last week, lot's of things going on so I headed out Sat. morning to the nearest LSS which is 70 miles away, hey when you need some retail therapy especially when you know they just got in a lot of Tim stuff ya gotta do what you gotta do!! lol Being I did have such a tough week, I went a little over board!! But it was so nice that they have finally gotten in some of Tim's stuff and I don't have to order it on line!! Plus after spending so much I got my punch card filled up so just had to go pick up something else and get $15.00 off, I chose Tim's Tag & Bookplates die cut, Woo Hoo!! Ahhh, some retail therapy does wonders, I had a much better weekend and hope this week goes better!! Here's a pic of my stash from my little shopping spree.....

I got the chance to go trick or treating with Landi & family again this year, super fun!! The boys are so cute!!

Caidin was a construction worker and Bridger was a monkey(which he is)!!

Pretty happy campers by the end of the night!!

Tim Holtz Inspiration-Christmas Creativity Curio

Getting to go to Shad's after all, I have a busy day ahead of me today getting ready! It is a long awaited visit!!! So looking forward to seeing him! He has been really enjoying his time off spending a lot of time with his little boy since returning from Iraq. I do feel bad I had to cancel a class I had scheduled there! But there should be a lot more visits to Kansas as they bought a house there.

Monday October 5th already! Wow, where has the time gone! Very cold here, talking of snow this week, yuk!!!! Had a pretty quiet weekend, about the only thing I did was go visit Joey's family on Sat. Joey was making salsa, Heidi says they have enough now to last at least a year! lol.. They only planted two plants and got so many nice tomatoes off of them. We played a lot with Jackson, he tryed on his halloween costume for us, he looked so cute! He is going to be a puppy and says trick or treat when he wants to! He has a new saying now when something drops or doesn't go right, ohhh man! So cute!

I did get a chance to finish this project inspired by Tim Holtz.

I also was inspired by Wendy Vecchi's blog and just had to try Wendy's technique of gluing patterned paper onto grunge paper and making the rose. My first attempt was a disaster! I had glued patterned paper on the front and back and it would not do anything!!! So went back and read how she did it and found out she didn't put it on the back, so tryed again and it worked so much better! I will have to make some more of these!! Love those roses!!!

They were so much fun to make, those two are the best!

WOW! Had an awesome time at CHA! But Sooooo tired!! I'm sure it will take me a few days to recoup! So fun to see all the new product coming out, talk about product overload! My fav was Ranger booth and Tim Holtz booth. Loved watching Wendy V. & Tim demoing. My all time fav is the pics I got to take with my all time fav people! Here are a few pics. I will post more on Mon. plus a chance to win some blog candy, so stop back Mon.
