Inspiration Studio 490

Happy Easter weekend everyone!
Over on Simon Says Stamp and Show this week is Inspiration Studio 490. I just couldn't sit this one out and had to make something. I love Studio 490...Wendy Vecchi stamps, art parts etc. Wendy is so talented, her creativity is fabulous! Super nice lady!! ♥
So I had been trying to think of something to make for a different project I had been working on and woke up one morning and had an idea for curlers. Don't ask where that one came from, maybe I had a nightmare about using them again!! lol I remember sleeping with those things in my hair, ouch!! Don't want to ever go back to that!! So then I read the challenge for SSSS and put the idea into place. I think I giggled at every curler I glued down! lol I used the telephone art part Wendy had made & signed the back that she gave me at CHA. So I didn't want to glue it down to something and cover the back, so hence the spool art part. So here is my piece curlers and all...

Have a great weekend everyone!!

MIA

MIA here or what!!! Between Christmas, company & being sick I haven't done anymore then I had to!! I have had a cold since before Christmas and just doesn't want to go away, at least the fever & body aches are gone! Our Christmas was very different this year, because of the storm coming in we ended up having our Christmas Eve on Wed. night as two of kids had to get elsewhere. What fun with all 4 grandsons together!! Then we got stormed in for 2 1/2 days!!!! Couldn't get where we were going to go on Christmas day so luckily I had taken out a turkey out of the freezer on Thurs. just in case so at least we had a good dinner on Fri.!! I felt so bad for Shad & family as they wanted to do a few things and see people, all they got was stuck in the house with mom & dad!! We did get dug out on Sun. and had a belated Christmas dinner etc. at SIL which was very nice! Thank goodness Shad was here as he helped us out a lot getting dug out!!! I didn't get any Christmas cards sent this year (sorry) but loved all the ones I received Thank you! I lucked out with presents this year and received a ton of scrapbook paper, 3 sets of Wendy Vecchi's stamps & a Yudu!!! I haven't had time to play with that yet but hope to soon!

Here is a layout I did with some of my new paper and I tryed out my i-top, fun!! I covered the brads with rock candy stickles, love that stuff!!

I have been working part time at the Arts & Crafts at the base, very interesting and learning how to engrave & frame! I will be heading up a few classes so I have been working on that when I can. Here is a pic of one of the classes we will be doing, a covered picture frame with grunge paper roses, the roses are so fun to make! If anyone has some ideas for classes I would love to here them!

Hope to play with my yudu today so hopefully post some projects in the next few days. Have a good one everyone!!

A little bit of Tim Holtz-A little bit of Wendy Vecchi

Monday October 5th already! Wow, where has the time gone! Very cold here, talking of snow this week, yuk!!!! Had a pretty quiet weekend, about the only thing I did was go visit Joey's family on Sat. Joey was making salsa, Heidi says they have enough now to last at least a year! lol.. They only planted two plants and got so many nice tomatoes off of them. We played a lot with Jackson, he tryed on his halloween costume for us, he looked so cute! He is going to be a puppy and says trick or treat when he wants to! He has a new saying now when something drops or doesn't go right, ohhh man! So cute!

I did get a chance to finish this project inspired by Tim Holtz.

I also was inspired by Wendy Vecchi's blog and just had to try Wendy's technique of gluing patterned paper onto grunge paper and making the rose. My first attempt was a disaster! I had glued patterned paper on the front and back and it would not do anything!!! So went back and read how she did it and found out she didn't put it on the back, so tryed again and it worked so much better! I will have to make some more of these!! Love those roses!!!

They were so much fun to make, those two are the best!

Have a good one!
