ATB

Thank you all for the thoughts, prayers and well wishes for my sister, I really appreciated it. Sorry to say she lost her battle and passed away Aug. 31st. She was more then just a sister to me, she was a second mom, sister and a great friend! I think we are all still in shock and trying to deal with it. She was a very special lady and will be missed by all!! After two deaths in the family less then two weeks a part, I have been emotionally drained. I'm getting better and I'm sure it is just going to take time.

Before all this happened I had signed up for a ATB swap on All Things Tim yahoo group, luckily I had started it awhile ago and managed to get it put together and in the mail before everything got real bad. I was inspired by Linda Ledbetter http://studiol3.blogspot.com/ for the embossed dress form and spools, so tryed my hand at it and I really liked the results!! Thank you Linda!!
I embossed the dress form stamp on grunge board, the flower is a prima flower dipped in utee and the flourish I first inked with peeled paint and then covered it with peeled paint stickles. I used Tim Holtz paper and embellishments. The needle was a blue plastic needle and I colored it with Adirondack alcohol ink mixatives silver, it doesn't show to well in the pic but it worked great! Now seeing these pics I wish I would have also stamped on the back of the little sign!! Next time!! lol

So hope to get back to some creativeness here in the near future and get back to normal a little! Thanks again everyone!
Have a good one!

SSSS/CCC

The challenge this week on CCC is Alcohol Ink Agate on Grunge and the challenge on SSSS is Show your Grunge, so I'm submitting the same project for both.
I made a frame for a little mirror, you really can't see that it is a mirror but the middle really is a mirror!! I waited until this morning to take the picture for better lighting, ya right FOG!!! So I had to play with the lighting a little bit so you really can't see the mirror part. I cut the frame out of GB and I did the Alcohol Ink on Grunge technique on it, that was a really a cool technique!! I will have to use that one again!! You have to get Tim's book to see how it is done! The rose is out of GP, I used Rusty Hinge distress ink first then I tryed Tim's technique of inking the inside of his embossing folder then running it through the embosser, I used mustard seed distress ink for that. Wow I liked that, it gave it a cool effect to it!! Lovin these challenges, it's fun to try things I have never tryed before!!

I'm headed to my daughters this morning to watch the boys while they go to a wedding, looking forward to spending the time with the boys!!
Thanks again everyone for all the nice comments!!
Have a good weekend!!

CCC#13

Here is my entry for Challenge 13...Grungepaper Flowers on Linda's blog http://studiol3.blogspot.com/. I love making grunge flowers and have done a lot of them. This time I wanted to try Tim's Tissue Tape on them. I inked them with alcohol inks, you can still see the wording through using them. I had ordered Wendy's Art Parts and just got them in the mail, so of course had to play with them. I used the Tissue Tape on the frame also, love that stuff!! Wendy's Art Parts are fantastic and easy to work with, love them!! Now on to the spool!!

Have a good one!

Things with Wings

Thanks everyone for your nice comments, you are all so kind!! Linda your challenge has been so much fun and yes I have been using a lot of old family photos for some of my projects, that was my grandmother in the last post with the frame. Love the challenge and your blog!
Now on to another challenge, over at www.simonsaysstampandshow.blogspot.com they are doing a challenge and this week is Things with Wings. Whew, didn't think I was going to make this one, I thought the date was further out and it is today!!! I have had an idea for awhile and got busy with it last night and finally finished this morning. WHEW!! I've been bookin, took me longer then I thought!! But here it is, I will have to tweak on it a little but my idea of the birdcage turned out pretty good, I used the drunken scotch technique on it. I've been really into the spools, hurry up retailers and get Wendy's Art Parts in!!! I had to take the picture inside today as it is so windy out so not the best!
Hope everyone is having a great weekend!!

CCC#7

Quick short post tonight.
Wow, didn't think I was going to make it in the challenge this week, been a crazy week!!
Managed to whip something up today. Seems like everyone is into spools since Wendy posted her Arts Parts on her blog, so thought I would give one a try. Can't wait for her Art Parts to hit the stores!! The challenge this week on Linda's blog was Tinted Vision Fragments. This was my first time doing this technique, not the best but will diffently do it again.

I'm off tomorrow morning to go to the lake camping with Landi & family. Can't wait, love watching the boys having fun in the water. And I'm looking forward to a few days of relaxation!!
Have a good one!
