Guest Artist/CCC#14

WOW!! I'm truly honored to have been a guest artist on Wendy Vecchi's blog! Over the moon excited!! I admire Wendy's work so much, love all of her stamps & books (which I need to get her new one ordered) she really is amazing!! Thank you Wendy for featuring me!! My Art Parts Halloween decor was a lot of fun to make and the Art Parts were really easy to work with. I covered mine with paper which I inked up with distress inks, the art parts themselves really don't need inking as they have kind of a burnish edge to them, really cool!!

Here is a piece I did quite a while ago for my entry for the CCC on Linda L. blog. Of course the inspiration was Wendy, she had done one and posted it on her blog and I loved it so much just had to do one similar and I have had it hanging in my craft room. The piece just jumped out and spoke to me, probably because I'm such a dreamer!! lol I used Tim's flourish mask on it. I get so much inspiration from Tim & Wendy, love, love, love their work!! Speaking of Tim, I'm hoping to see him over the weekend. I'm headed to my daughter's after work tonight and then we will head out bright and early Fri. morning to ScrapFest at the Mall of America, can't wait!! It is going to be so much fun, and being able to spend the day with my daughter will be great!! We can only go for Fri. but that just might be enough from what I have heard about it!! lol

I want to thank everyone who has visited my blog and who have left such wonderful comments!! I truly appreciate them!! Thank you!!

Have a good one!!

Art Parts/SSSS

Here is my entry for SSSS http://simonsaysstampandshow.blogspot.com where the theme is Holiday Fun, so I went with a Halloween theme. I used Wendy Vecchi's new Art Parts/Spool for the project. I think I'm a little addicted to these spools!! Lovin these Art Parts, lots of fun. I got mine right from Stampers Anonymous and received them within 2 weeks for those who asked.
To windy outside here so couldn't get a back drop to work so the background is house siding (sorry) if I would learn how to use my photo shop program better I probably could have changed it!!
I have a whole tub of Halloween & Fall paper and ya think I could find it in my mess of a craft room, so went with the little pack of paper I did find. I really need to get that room cleaned up as I can't find anything!! Been throwing things around after I use them and you can barely walk in there, even worse now after this project!! lol
The haunted house & bats are some of Tim's GB pieces & inked with Distress Inks & stickles on the bats. The fence I made a template & cut out of GP (really could have used some of Tim's new die cuts & embossing folders on this project)!!
The tree was cut out of Coordinations cardstock. There is glossy accents in the windows & I used the chipped enamel technique for the #31.
I spent 2 hours in town yesterday trying to find some Halloween charms to hang from it, finally found these at JoAnns (which was the only ones they had) couldn't believe how hard it was to find something, I remember seeing stuff like that all over the place! Geezzz
Having fun with these Art Parts, they are Fantastic!! Love them!!
Thanks Wendy for coming up with them!!!

Have a good one!!

Things with Wings

Thanks everyone for your nice comments, you are all so kind!! Linda your challenge has been so much fun and yes I have been using a lot of old family photos for some of my projects, that was my grandmother in the last post with the frame. Love the challenge and your blog!
Now on to another challenge, over at www.simonsaysstampandshow.blogspot.com they are doing a challenge and this week is Things with Wings. Whew, didn't think I was going to make this one, I thought the date was further out and it is today!!! I have had an idea for awhile and got busy with it last night and finally finished this morning. WHEW!! I've been bookin, took me longer then I thought!! But here it is, I will have to tweak on it a little but my idea of the birdcage turned out pretty good, I used the drunken scotch technique on it. I've been really into the spools, hurry up retailers and get Wendy's Art Parts in!!! I had to take the picture inside today as it is so windy out so not the best!
Hope everyone is having a great weekend!!

Inking Grunge

Hey Everyone,
I have had a busy busy couple of weeks, sure busier then I want to be that's for sure!! Fighting a cold on top of it, oh summer colds!! UGG!!
The challenge for wk#8 on Linda's blog was Inking Grunge, one of my favorites!! The header pic of my blog was done all with GB&GP. Love, love, love inking grunge!!! I took this photo last weekend at the lake of my grandson Bridger by an old boat. Love it! Decided to make a wall hanging with it and hang it in my craft room (no studio here) lol!! I didn't have much time this week, otherwise I might have come up with something other then flowers, oh well. I used Graphic 45 On the Boardwalk collection. Inked a styled label in rusty hinge and ran it through an embossing folder and inked up the flowers cut from Tim's Tattered Florals die. Have you watched the video on his blog with the rosette, on my wish list for sure!!!

We had a super fun weekend camping at the lake with Landi & family. The boys love the water!!
Here are a few pics from the weekend....
Boys on the dock...
Caidin on the trampoline...
Bridger loved the boat raft...
Actually playing together...
Boys in kayak...
Caidin back from fishing, he won a dollar for 1st fish...
Campfire...
Even Maddie got in on the fun, she loved it down by the beach!!

Fun weekend had by all!!
Everyone have a good one!
