CCC wk#3

Here's my submission for the Compendium of Curiosities challenge week#3 over on Linda's blog . This has been so much fun! I have had Tim's book for quite awhile and have done some of the techniques, but this challenge is inspiring me to try ones that I might not have gotten around to for awhile. I used one of Tim's embossing folders on this one.

I have been doing a lot of classes at work, one the other night that my boss asked if I would do at the spur of the moment, 6 women wanted to do the class that we had done the previous week that they weren't able to attend, don't want to discourage anyone from the classes so I agreed! Talk about stress, I was flying around like a mad women trying to get things cut out and ready. The project had a lot of pieces to cut out and granted Tim's die cuts makes it easier but wow, don't think I want to do that again! I also have been doing kids classes every Tues. the class is supposed to be limited to 10-12 students but my boss is letting more students in and the classes have been averaging 15+, TO MANY!!!! She is such a softy!! Getting smart though, NO PAINTING!!! They wouldn't be quite so bad if they were all the same age, but they range in age from 5 to 13. Never thought I would say it, but I'm looking forward to the end of summer!! Speaking of summer, we have been super hot here 93 yesterday and supposed to be 95 or above today! We get such high humidity that it get's unbearable to be outside!! Guess I will just have to stay inside and play!! Yayyy!! I'm hoping to get a few projects done this weekend (my other tote for one).

Hope all of you have a wonderful 4th of July!!

Have a good one!!

  1. Wow, Donna, you are one busy lady! You must be a great teacher, though, and I wish I could come to one of our classes.

Your tag is awesome! I never even thought to try doing the alcohol ink monoprint on an embossed surfact. It worked beautifully! Sun rays breaking through the clouds-- wow!

Thanks so much for sharing the beauty! I can't wait to see what you come up with next week.

  2. The colors are really stunning, Donna! Love this!

  3. Its gorgeous, I never thought about embossing either, brilliant effect. Annette x

  4. What a pretty tag! Love the embossing too. I have to agree that this challenge gets you trying techniques you might otherwise have not got round to. x

  5. Hello Donna,

did you do the background colors with alcohol inks ? I like the shades in the colors.
The embossing folder looks good too.
I'm still waiting for the embossing folders to arrive here in Belgium...
    greetings from belgium

  6. OH MY GOODNESS, Donna!!! What a BEAUTIFUL tag....using the texture plate just made that tag!!!
