CCC#12

Here is my entry to CCC#12 on Linda's blog http://studiol3.blogspot.com the technique for this week is Chipped Enamel. I only have 4 colors of distress embossing powder, black, vintage photo, green & red, so that kinda dictated the theme of my entry. Very fun technique and I need to get more embossing powders to try different colors! I did do the technique on the photo corners to but it doesn't show up real well in the picture. After I got it photographed I noticed I didn't put the ribbon in the hole, will have to add that later! lol

Yesterday, Donna Downey posted about the unibind on FB, I have one of those so went to her blog to check it out. Loved what she had done with the album. So of course had to go find mine, I had totally forgotten about it and had tucked it away so really had to search for it!! I only had black albums so figured I would play with one of the little ones first. I painted it white then proceeded to emboss on it with utee, all went well until I blasted the utee with the heat gun the paint underneath started bubbling! But went ahead and finished it and added the of green wash over it, here's a pic...

For the big album I skipped the white paint and proceeded to emboss with the utee, then did a blue wash over it. I kinda liked it the way it was before I did the wash of paint. Oh well, I will make a bunch of stuff and put inside the album and show you what I came up with when it is done. Go check out Donna D. blog and see the gorgeous one she did!

Thanks again for looking and for all your nice comments!!
Have a good one!
Donna

  4. Donna, you've created a gorgeous piece that is the very definition of "merry and bright!" What a lovely way to incorporate the chipped enamel technique-- on the numerals AND the sweet poinsettias, too! As always, your design is beautiful and so well thought out!

Now I need to find out what a Unibind is, and I'm probably going to want one, aren't I??

Your album overs are great, too! I always end up bubbling my paint, but I figure hey, it's just another method of distressing, right? ;-)
