Grungy Monday #3

Just making it under the wire here for Grungy Monday over on Linda's blog http://studiol3.blogspot.com where the technique is using Ranger Adirondack Color Wash. I don't have to many colors but I have been really loving these, will defiantly have to get some more!! I used lettuce, denim & plum on Tim's new Kraftresist paper, that paper is really awesome, loving it!! The flower & scroll were made from grunge paper, I colored the flower with wild honey distress stains and embossed with Tim's scroll folder and dabbed the raised areas with a gold dabber. The center of the flower is made with Tim's Kraft Glassine paper, looking forward to playing with that some more! Have a good one!! Donna

Trinket Boxes

Michael's has these cute little wood boxes for $1.00! I have done some before if you search my blog for wallet/coupon holder & eye glass holder you will see the other ones I have done. I tried to copy and paste the photo here but didn't work, if any one knows how to do that I would appreciate any help!! I have made these for gifts etc., and I have done a few classes with them. When I went to Michael's the other day they had a different shape wood box and this is what I did with them. The Easter one I was going to put a little decorated egg on top but decided I liked it just the way it was, can't cover up that cool Tim H. seasonal paper!! lol

I'm off this afternoon to my daughters then in the morning we take off for our scrapbooking weekend, can't wait!! I have so much stuff I'm bringing, and today I'm stopping off at a scrapbook store on my way to my daughters, as if I need anymore!! But should be fun!!
Thank you all for the nice comments!! I appreciate them!!
Have a good one!!

CCC/SSSS

I had a chance to play the other night and made a tag for the SSSS and CCC over on Simon Says Stamp and Show and Studio L3 blogs. I'm thinking spring here, we had temps around 40 for a few days and I have spring fever big time!! The warmer weather didn't last long and we are cold again and possible storm this weekend, oh yay!!

So I tried my hand at making a stamp from Tim's birdcage die cut out of foam and also made a mask, worked pretty good! I loved the technique used out of Tim's book for this challenge and will have to try it again!!

Next week I'm going scrapbooking for the weekend, I have been telling my daughter that I'm going light and just taking what pics & paper I need, yay right!! I have been gathering my stuff and forgot how much stuff you need to bring!! Can't decide on what pics I want to do and what paper so I already have my big tote full and started on another one!! Then there is the cricut & cartridges and diecuts, and everything else!! I think my car is going to be pretty full and I still need to find room for clothes, food etc. I don't think I know what traveling light is!! lol Should be interesting!

Have a good one everyone!!

Compendium of Curiosities Challenge

Linda from Studio L3 http://studiol3.blogspot.com had this great idea to present a weekly challenge to try one of the many techniques from Tim Holtz book Compendium of Curiosities. You have to check out Linda's blog every Monday to see what we're doing. There will be random drawings for cool gifts. Gloria, the list mom from ATT will also be doing giveaways.
Here is my tag using the water stamping technique.

I really liked this technique and will have to use it more often!! Thanks Linda for doing this challenge!

Have a good one!!

Eye Glass Case/Mothers Day

I had a really great Mothers Day weekend with Landi & family, always so much fun at her house! Her boys are always doing something fun! On Sat. we took Bridger to Chuck E. Cheese's while Landi & Caidin helped with a garage sale. We made the mistake of asking Bridger where he wanted to have lunch, Chuck E. Cheese's he says, we tried & tried to get him to go somewhere else but he would say NO Chuck E. Cheese's! He didn't throw a fit or anything, would just smile and say it, so who can resist right!! So we went and had a lot of fun! We thought the Pizza was pretty bad but he liked it. He even got his picture taken with Chuck E. Cheese, he wouldn't look at the camera just stared at Chuck E. Cheese! So Cute!!
Sunday was finally nice enough to go outside and the boys got to jump on their trampoline, they have so much fun!

Potted flowers with the boys for mothers day gift. Bridger was so funny, he tried to put the whole container of flowers in the flower pot!

And did I mention dirt, little boys are attracted to it!!!!

Bob has been looking for a pop up camper to leave at the lake so he can have a place to stay and try get out fishing more often this summer. So Bob & Chad went to look at one and yep, it came home with them! The boys loved it, I didn't think we were going to get them to come out of it!

Fun over, had to come home and get busy and finish this eye glass case for a class I'm doing on Thurs. along with the wallet/coupon holder.

Reading glasses fit perfectly in the case. I used Studio 490 stamps to stamp the book page, grunge rose & leaves. Love Wendy's stamps!!!

Have a good one!

Grunge board/grunge paper wall hangings

Just a quick post this morning, getting ready for work. This little part time job has been pretty much full time lately and I'm not real happy about that! Not enough time to play!! Hopefully it will get better! I made a couple more wall hangings, trying to get one down pat to do a class with, let me know which one is your favorite. I tryed Wendy's technique of stamping on the buttons on the second one, I wasn't real good at it but adds a nice little touch.

Gotta run, have a good one everyone!!

Inspired

Happy Camper here....I got my stash of grunge paper replenished yesterday, along with new Tim Holtz distress inks. Ohhh, I'm really liking Rusty Hinge, Bundled Sage & Tumbled glass!! I finished this wall hanging that I had started inspired by Wendy Vecchi's book. Love all of her projects and her book is fantastic!! I'm not a purple person...not at all!! But a lady in my Grunge Paper Rose Frame class last week did her roses in Dusty Concord and they were absolutely beautiful!! So thought I would try doing a purple flower, not quite the results I wanted but it is ok, should have tryed doing the roses. I did the center of the flower with Wild Honey, I thought it would be lighter. Hello, what was I thinking I know exactly what honey looks like as my dad used to do Bee Keeping as a hobby and did the extracting etc. in the basement!! Oh well, it got a little darker then I wanted but it will do. Fun little project! I was asked what color I used on my roses in the last post and it is Broken China, one of my favorites!! Off to Landi's today to watch the boys tonight. Should be fun and I'm sure I will come home with tons of pictures!! I have to get busy and get some scrapbooking done with all of my pictures!!

Have a good one everyone!!

Tim Holtz Book

Happy St. Patrick's Day everyone! I had my lucky day last Tues., the lady I work for finally found Tim Holtz's book she was going to give to me. Woo! Hoo! I was just about to go ahead and order it as she couldn't find it (can you believe that!) I snatched it out of her hand so fast and did a Happy Dance!!! Went and put it in my car right away so it would not go missing again! lol I have looked at it over and over, need some time to play and try a couple of techniques I haven't tryed before. Awesome Book!!

Here is a couple of wall hangings I had started & stopped for a couple of months now, finally called them good! When seeing it on Wendy Vecchi's blog I wanted to do one, all of her projects are fabulous!!

Busy designing & doing classes, I have had a lot this month for National Craft month! So get busy and do some crafting!!

Have a good one everyone!

Christmas Album

When I got home from our trip I started a travel album, got the cover almost done when this Christmas album that I started about two months ago kept staring me in the face. I decided I better get that project done before I moved on to another. I don't know why but I kept starting this album then putting it aside, maybe because Christmas was so far away, now it is right around the corner! Yikes! Another inspiration to get it done might be that I finally found some Distress Stickles Rock Candy, oh my gosh is this stuff addicting! Worked perfect for some of the embellishments for the pages!! I'm determined now to get it done so I can move on to other things!

Here is the cover.....

Here is a couple of pages I used the Distress Stickles Rock Candy on.....

I might still add some lace to the bottom of the snow man one if I can find some that will match. Already started on another page so I'm on a roll!!!!!
Have a good one!

Tim Holtz Inspiration-Christmas Creativity Curio

Getting to go to Shad's after all, I have a busy day ahead of me today getting ready! It is a long awaited visit!!! So looking forward to seeing him! He has been really enjoying his time off spending a lot of time with his little boy since returning from Iraq. I do feel bad I had to cancel a class I had scheduled there! But there should be a lot more visits to Kansas as they bought a house there.

Here is a little more inspiration from Tim Holtz, my Christmas Creativity Curio.

A little bit of Tim Holtz-A little bit of Wendy Vecchi

Monday October 5th already! Wow, where has the time gone! Very cold here, talking of snow this week, yuk!!!! Had a pretty quiet weekend, about the only thing I did was go visit Joey's family on Sat. Joey was making salsa, Heidi says they have enough now to last at least a year! lol.. They only planted two plants and got so many nice tomatoes off of them. We played a lot with Jackson, he tryed on his halloween costume for us, he looked so cute! He is going to be a puppy and says trick or treat when he wants to! He has a new saying now when something drops or doesn't go right, ohhh man! So cute!

I did get a chance to finish this project inspired by Tim Holtz.

I also was inspired by Wendy Vecchi's blog and just had to try Wendy's technique of gluing patterned paper onto grunge paper and making the rose. My first attempt was a disaster! I had glued patterned paper on the front and back and it would not do anything!!! So went back and read how she did it and found out she didn't put it on the back, so tryed again and it worked so much better! I will have to make some more of these!! Love those roses!!!

They were so much fun to make, those two are the best!

Have a good one!

Book Mark

I have been a little scarce here, busy, busy! I had Landi's boys over the weekend they always keep me busy! Bridger was a little accident prone this weekend and had to take him home with a black eye and goose egg on his forehead! Wooooo he gave his grannie a scare! I was so stressed I didn't even take a picture after it was all over! Do you believe that!!! Boy I'm slipping! No actually was very worried! But he is a tough little guy and came through it better then me!!! Needless to say this time I was really glad to bring him home!!!! I did get some photos of them playing in the little pool so will post those soon, hopefully in a layout.

I got a new bind-it-all last Fri. so excited!! I have been working on a little album and hope to get it binded soon! Will post it when completed.

Here is a book mark I did for a grunge paper swap at Tim Holtz yahoo group, what fun!

Well that's it for today, hope next post will have a lot of inspiration!

Have a good one!
